Marathon of celebrations
Whatz up guys?
I have spent the whole WE celebrating...
First I was invited to Rudolf and Korede 's wedding. The wedding started on friday till saturday in Grand-Bassam and Assinie-Mafia (Beach area of Abidjan district). It was very lovely the weather was also very nice. The official ceremony was on friday then we had the dinner and party in l'Etoile du Sud (the nicest hotel in Grand-Bassam). We slept there and then had a brunch in a luxurious villa of Assinie-Mafia. Then I went back to Abidjan to celebrate the birthday of a colleague's twin daughter. They just turned 1. It was in the garden of our residence next to the pool. Stayed there till 8pm then went to the farewell party of another colleague. Finally went to bed around midnight exhausted.
The celebrations were not finished...
On sunday went to the baptism of the friend daughter till 5pm and finally went to the birthday party of another friend till 8pm.
It is weird how some WE are just boring cos I have nothing to do nothing is happenning and others where you do not even know how you will manage to attend all the ceremonies.
Hope your WE was also full of happiness.
Lost of hugs

Explanation of the 10-days tour in western and northern Côte d'Ivoire, March 08

Hello friends,
Hope you are all well. You can see on the pictures below the illustration of a 10 days tour in northern and western Côte d'Ivoire that I did from 25 March till 3 April. I was travelling with my colleague Eric, our driver Raphael and an Abidjan-based thearter group called Manh Boya (which mean my hapiness in Guere, a language from the west). We were conducting a human rights sensitisation campaign by theater. Plays illustrating the Universal Declaration of the Human Rights (celebration of its 60th anniversary), child forced-labour, female genital mutilation, international justice, social cohesion...were performed by the Manh Boya theater group. We have been travelling from Abidjan to Daloa, Duekoue, Korhogo, Odienne, Bouake and Yamoussoukro. We have driven more than 2.354 km, the group performed 11 times before an audience of more than 3000 people.
It was a really great opportunity to visit the whole Côte d'Ivoire and see the different ethnic groups, culture, landscape ect... Now I will have to visit the south and east to to say that I have travelled everywhere in CI.
Lots of hugs
fatou xxx
