Home Sweet Home

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Et chez vous on dit quoi? I am fine sorry for the delay but I was busy and had a lack of inspiration like many artists lol! (nothing exciting happened, I am so boring!). Anyway, the good news is that i found a very cute furnished one-bedroom flat in a safe and nice area of Abidjan. The flat is on the 4th floor. There is no lift so will be good exercise for my legs and butt...! especially because I am not doing any kind of physical activities here. I will even have a washing machine which is very unusual. I got plenty of room for those who feel like passing by Abidjan to visit and learn how to do the dance of the chicken who got the bird flue (from DJ Lewis, try to google the name you will be surprised) or the one of the Guantanamo detainees (from DJ Zidane). I am not kidding, seriously there is a famous song on the chicken who is becoming mad cos gets the bird flue and when you dance you imitate the ill chiken and the other one you imitate the detainees of Guantanamo wearing hancuffs. You should come clubs are GREAT! better than Havana believe me.
So for the flat I will move in at the end of the week I am so excited. Wish we could be together to celebrate the house warming party.
On sunday I am planning to go in Assinie Mafia to the beach. It is the resort area in Abidjan region. Will send you pictures hope the weather will be fine. Should not say so especially because i know that in Europe it is already cold. For me it is everyday summer since I arrive I have never ever worn socks or even a jacket. That is the nice thing being in Africa. And it really change people's mood, here most of the people seem happy even if there are lots of issues but.....
My work is fine, find it interesting. I am becoming an expert on human rights indeed!
Hope all is good on your side.
Take care
Bisous

Milles bisous................

Bonjour les ptits loups, On dit quoi? Comment ça va? La famille ça va? Et les affaires ça va? Ici ça va on est la bien même! (Qqs expressions ivoiriennes).
Mes pieds MY GOD they were HORIBBLE very damaged because of high hills stilletos and pointed shoes ! Bah oui faut choisir dans la vie soit on est fashion et on assume les conséquences soit on en l’est pas ! Moi j’ai déjà choisi mon camp ! Now I have baby foot soft and smooth. Miss you all, vous me manquez snif snif……………now will miss you as well James Bond agent 007!. fatou xoxo

Half Moon Posture in Accra

Cheries Cocos,
On dit quoi? For me it is all good as Pubudu will say. I went a WE in Ghana, Accra with some workmates. It was great, very refreshing. Accra is a beautiful city well organised and clean. It is amazing how anglophone cities are well strucutred and the population disciplined. We walk around the city, went to art centre, market, beach and hairdresser for Sory!
We went out on saturday evening, was very nice it was mainly reggae-dancehall, Pull up Selecta!!!!!!!!!!! The way people were dancing I felt like I was in Kingston Jamaica, it was H-O-T!
I am back in Abidjan, the weather is nice and hot. The work is interesting and I am learning a lot. I dont remember if I have told you that before but actually I will be based in Abidjan. I am happy about that ;) Now I have to look for a flat ;(.
Hope you are all fine.
More later........................
Bisous

Debriefing from the mission in Yamoussoukro

Amigos,
I went a week in mission in Yamoussoukro with Nazzarena (she will be the head of our Human Rights Office in Yamoussoukro) and Allassane (our driver). We went there to set up the field office and meet our colleagues. The office is based in a military camp of the French militaries from the Genie Civil (engineers). Yamoussoukro is a nice city quite huge but empty. I mean there is not a lot of people and no much to do....most of our colleagues there are now playing golf to beat boredom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Careful Tiger Wood the competion will become tight!
There are massive avenues same size as the Champs Elysees in Paris. The presidential palace is huge there is even a crocodile lake. The former president Felix Houphouet Boigny wanted to have a beautiful city he even build the replica of the basilica St Pierre of Rome with gold.
The only problem I had was a bad stomach ache during 2 days. I think I was food poisonned. I cannot stand fish anymore, I had too much of it: poisson braise (grilled fish). Because of my narrow mindness towards food it becomes difficult to find suitable food for me! I will survive hey hey la la la la la!
Yesterday with my friend Sory (he is a very nice guy working in the budget department) we went for dinner in a place next to my house (yeah I am staying at somebody's house while the person is away on leave it is a huge villa with a swimming pool yay!, will send pictures) called La Gourmandise and guess what they have the best crepes (pancakes), gallette bretonne and gauffres (waffles) of the whole Abidjan! I was so HAPPY to have dinner there, you cannot imagine, you know me I just LOVE CREPES that is my favourite!
The general situation is quiet at the moment but was very bad last week in Grand Bassam (beach area near Abidjan) and Divo (South Bandama region) in total 5 persons died and several others were injuried. Many things were burnt out.
Hope you are all well and happy.
Lots of Hugs
